We are happy to say that we get far too many to put them all here. These are a few that put smiles on our faces here at Champion K9.

Hi Michael: I just want to thank you for coming over last weekend and meeting with us. Although you told us we have a "good dog" and a relatively easy case, you're advice truly did make a difference! My husband's entire approach and thinking has changed since you explained about voice pitch and body stance. I've been not only able to get Jeter out the door, but he ASKS to go out the front door. We've gotten in the car and drove to a development to go on walks/runs three times this week! Also, since we've been following your advice and giving him less food, he's eating two meals a day and finishing both. Even though our problems may seem small compared to your other cases, your advice and demonstration really made a huge difference in our lives in just one week. Jeter's now a much happier (and mentally healthier) dog.

Thank you! Maggie Lazur (Neptune,  February, 2010 )

Michael,

Just wanted to send a thank you note for all the time you gave us with our two new Labrador pups. I still can't believe we decided to take two, and it was overwhelming. When our Vet said to call you I thought,  'I had dogs before. I can do this.'  Wrong. We were at our wit's end. Which one was peeing on the floor? Which one was pulling up the carpet? So we called and it was the best thing we did. The improvement after the first session was a relief and it's just getting better. You gave us a workable program and structure to get things back on track and we'll definitely be going on to the obedience when they are old enough. Thanks, and see you at the next session.

Mike

Just an update on our Havanese, Sully. Your advice was clear and specific ( your printed notes are really very helpful too ) and his problems with housebreaking are about done. He walks much better on the leash and no longer bolts out the door and down the street. He also stopped his nipping and biting us. The reason I am writing this is because we had spent 8 weeks in a puppy class and 3 home lessons from the same people and we still had these issues.  Part of what we learned is that there is a huge difference in trainers.  We achieved more after one session with you than eleven sessions elsewhere and we are very happy with the results.

Thanks so much.

Michael, I have to say that I was skeptical when you told me that perhaps one session would be all it took to evaluate our German Shepherd's aggression to strangers and (maybe) put her on the right path. Sheba is eight years old and we had seen three trainers and one veterinary behaviorist. She was on numerous medications for her behavior including Prozac and Phenobarbitol. None of the advice from the trainers had worked nor had the medications. We were at the end of our rope when I called you. You were apporopriately cautious in not promising a cure, but we are shocked at the change in Sheba. She is no longer on the medications, and her aggression at the door and towards strangers on walks has 99%  disappeared. I wanted to thank you for what you did. In less than three hours you did what no one else in years had been able to do. Life here is so much better for all of us. So, again, thank you!

As a volunteer at two NJ dog rescues, and having graduated Basic and Advanced Obedience classes with my first dog, I never imagined I'd have trouble training my new puppy, Princeton. I was in for a big shock. This innocent-looking puppy was growing up to become a Devil Dog in disguise, presenting dominance and aggressive (biting) behaviors toward me and visitors to my home. I took him to a very well-known obedience school in Howell, but I had such a hard time controlling him that the instructor lost patience and made us (me & Princeton) feel like failures each week until we eventually dropped out of the class in embarrassment. Desperate, I sought out the expertise of Michael Batlan, and thank god I did.

Michael tailors each visit to your dog's needs and whatever problems have cropped up that week. His patience and skill (with both people and dogs) give you nearly instant results by the next lesson.  The transformation that my Tiny Terror of a Papillon has undergone is nothing short of AMAZING. Even more important, the training exercises Michael advised made Princeton and I bond tightly together. When people who never met Princeton way back when he was a "problem child" see him today, they all tell me that Princeton is just one of those rare, easy-to-train dogs and aren't I lucky to have such a well-behaved dog. That's when I tell them of my experience and how luck had nothing to do with it!  My "new" Princeton has been Batlanized and is now a furry ambassador for Champion K-9. Four paws up for Michael and his team!

One day and we see tremendous results. Living with Baci has improved 100%.

Hi Michael, Nancy and I wanted to thank you for all the time you put in above and beyond in helping us with our adopted street dog. We know that without your help we would not have been able to keep Murphy. As you said, he had no social skills, no name. He didn't even know the word "sit". With your patient help and guidance Murphy has turned out to be wonderful companion. You have a top notch ability as a teacher and your talent in judging what methods would work best with him was what we needed.

Hi Mike, I can't tell you how happy I am with Charlie . As you know Charlie was in danger of being returned to the shelter because of his aggression. I had tried a clicker trainer and the advice was to offer a treat to distract him from the objects he guarded, but his aggression remained, and he repeated the behavior much more often.  I had trusted that the trainer knew what they were doing. They didn't. His problem was obviously much worse. Then a friend told me about you. Your advice was priceless. Charlie's behavior dramatically improved in only a few days.  I know we have a lot more to do, but thanks to you I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

      Michael,

Greta and I just wanted to drop a note thanking you for all your time and the effort you put into rehabilitating our wayward beagle, Missy.Since the training with you our lives are a lot less stressful and we find that we enjoy our little girl far more.Life is no longer days spent yelling uselessly at her, and we can finally have friends over without her stealing the food off the coffee table.

Thanks

Jen, the kids, and I wanted to thank you once again for literally saving our dog Pumba. Before contacting you we had called several other trainers, most of whom refused to see us once they heard that Pumba was a large Shepherd mix who had bitten and was increasingly aggressive. Nearly everyone said to put him down. Then you walked into our home and changed everything and gave us hope that our beloved pet could be changed. The change that happened was nothing short of a miracle. Not only was Pumba's agression reduced to nearly nothing, but you gave us a whole new understanding of our dog and dogs in general. Thank you for all you did for us.

Michael, This is a big thank you for being such a great trainer. You are a gifted trainer and a natural teacher. In training my first German Shepherd, Amy, you took on quite a handful, especially knowing that Amy had been expelled from group lessons for her bad behavior. Amy has been a joy to live with ever since you helped me in getting her under control. But it is really my second Shepherd, Rocky, who I am writing to you about. As you know Shepherd rescue had given me an evaluation of Rocky as excessively fearful and that I should avoid all training that was too demanding of him. You disagreed, and felt that Rocky would gain confidence through a very demanding course of obedience, and you were right. Rocky's fears disappeared in just six short weeks and he loved to work. So for the second time and for my second dog training with you I can't thank you enough for helping both me and my "kids" have a very happy life together.

Stacey Rosati, Clarksburg

Hi Michael, I Just thought I'd drop a quick note to you to tell you that Buster is a new dog. His lunging at other dogs and pulling stopped the day you came and has never returned. My friends all noticed the overall difference immediately. To tell you the truth, I never thought that just one session with any trainer could possibly have that effect.  I tell everyone who asks about Buster all about you. Thanks for your help.

Karen Marshall, Monmouth Beach

Mike, Thanks for helping us with our Ashley. As much as we loved Ashley we just couldn't find anyone who could help us with Ashley's separation anxiety. Before you we had tried the group lessons for food treats. Not only didn't that work in alleviating her fears, she came away from the training no better behaved than when we started. But your methods and common sense approach is what did the trick. Ashley no longer destroys the house when we leave, even her fear of thunder is significantly improved and we have much better control of her when we take her out. Our vet said you were the best he knew of and we agree.

Larry and Terry Morra, Brick

My wife and I wanted to let you know how very much indebted to you we are. Your knowledge and ability to ask the right questions I am sure saved our German Shepherd, Tommi.  After taking Tommi to another trainer who prescribed harsh punishment for his destructive behavior, we see the difference in the qualifications of different dog trainers. You were the only person to piece together all his health information and suggest that we take Tommi in to the Vet for a check of his pancreas. Your thought that he suffered from a pancreatic disorder that caused him to literally be ravenously hungry all the time was exactly right. Tommi is now on added enzymes to his food. He is back to being the dog we knew. And we can only thank you.

Tom and Lynn Pagnozzi

Michael, I wanted to tell you that without your help I don't think that I would have been able to keep my little devil with the angel's face. My Golden Retriever, Bella was driving me to distraction. Her biting, chewing, jumping all over people was beyond anything that I was expecting. When I called you I was at my wits end, and thoughts of not keeping her were making me extremely unhappy. I hadn't a clue as to how to handle my puppy and get her to be the companion I wanted. Your programs, the puppy training that led into the the obedience training was the best investment I have ever made.

Kelly O'Donnell, Long Branch

Michael, I just wanted to drop a note about Tranya, the pit mix rescue dog that you helped us with about 1 month ago. As you may remember, we had recently moved from a wooded area upstate where my dog didn't have much contact with other dogs and could run free. Here in Ocean Grove, we were struggling through our daily walks and were afraid she would snap at someone; being a pit mix, we knew that could mean losing our dog. After 1 session, it was like walking a new dog. She's great on the leash and is much less fearful, and therefore less likely to snap, than before. In fact, we've noticed an overall calmness that was missing before. We waited the month so we could let you know how things were in the "long term". Thank you, thank you for letting our sweet dog's personality shine trough.

Sincerely, Alma and Gene Simakowicz  (  Ocean Grove,  August , 2006 )

My husband and I wanted to tell you how much we appreciate what you have done for us and our beloved Greyhound, Tikka. Not many people would have taken on a 5 year old adopted track dog who was showing signs of aggression towards strangers. We tried a group and the results were nonexistent. Your training and the education you gave us all was nearly a miracle. Tikka is much calmer, her behavior has improved dramatically, and the aggression issue has disappeared. Thanks for saving our Tikka.

Hi Michael,Just a simple thank you for all you did with our two Doberman puppies, Molly and Dana. Your skills combined with the time you spent (above and beyond) explaining dogs and how they think and learn has been an invaluable experience for all of us. The kids really took to you and your patient ways of explaining to the children all about their new pets has really paid off.

You sir, are a miracle worker. My 18 month old German Shepherd, Brady, was completely out of control. We had been asked to leave 2 other group trainings because Brady was so badly behaved and the trainers did not seem to have the inclination or the skills to help. If it hadn’t been for the fact that I was wasting my money, it was comical to watch the previous trainer furiously use her clicker while Brady was jumping all over her.  I can’t believe that after only 6 weeks of working with you I have a new dog. Thanks.
